LET'S TALK LET´S TALK program brings together two often-separated worlds: seniors living in care facilities and children from kindergartens and primary schools across the whole Czech Republic. Through regular visits and shared activities, we create space for meaningful communication between generations—encouraging the exchange of time, energy, experiences and wisdom. In the LET´S TALK program, specific groups of children nearby homes for the elderly on a regular basis typically every 3 to 4 weeks for 45–60 minutes. These ongoing visits help build familiarity and deepen relationships, allowing friendships to naturally form between the generations. Each meeting is carefully prepared and led by our coordinators, who design the activities based on the needs and abilities of both children and seniors. Activities often include: Art and music Movement and games Storytelling and reading Celebrations of holidays and seasonal events These meetings are not only enjoyable but are also integrated into the educational schedules of schools and kindergartens as well as into the social programs of facilities for the elderly. In the LET´S TALK program, children meet people who are often over 90 years old, giving them a rare and valuable opportunity to experience life in a completely different time period. They develop empathy, gain a deeper understanding of ageing and learn to view the elderly with respect rather than prejudice, which is especially important for children who may not be in regular contact with their own grandparents. These intergenerational meetings bring joy, inspiration, and new energy to seniors. Sharing their stories, talents, and life experiences helps them feel valued and connected. Most importantly, both groups learn from each other: respect, kindness, and the beauty of friendship that transcends age. LET'S HELP As part of the Help program, we activate the social involvement of seniors. Seniors become useful helpers - grandmothers and grandfathers who regularly come to kindergartens or primary schools as welcome forces. If you are a clever grandmother and grandfather and you offer help, together we will find a kindergarten near your home, where they will be happy to welcome you. If you are a kindergarten that wants to support intergenerational connections and you would like a skilled senior to help, please do not hesitate to contact us. HOW DOES THE HELP PROGRAM WORK? We will conclude a cooperation agreement with the senior (they must always provide proof of medical fitness and an RT statement) and together we will find a kindergarten / primary school near his / her residence that is interested in assistance. A contract is also concluded with the school facility, which clearly defines what activities the senior can be used for and what his / her responsibility is. Although contact with children is required, the tasks are of the nature of assistance, the transfer of experience, skills and responsibility for children always remains with the staff of the facility. NEIGHBORHOOD PLUS PROGRAM He cooperates between us on the implementation of the NEIGHBORS plus project - a volunteer project that supports mutual neighborly help and belonging. Its main goal is to improve the quality of life in old age and prolong the period when seniors can stay in their natural environment.
