LET'S READ In the READ program, our fairytale reading grandmothers and grandfathers read fairy tales to children in kindergartens. We always try to choose a kindergarten that is close to seniors, whether by distance or heart. The program, which has been running since September 2015, has met with a great response from both kindergartens and seniors. Most reading grandmothers and grandfathers who regularly read to children are in Prague, but their ranks are gradually expanding in other regions of the Czech Republic. Since the autumn of 2017, the READ program (volunteer program for seniors) has been accredited by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic . WHO IS A FAIRYTALE READING GRANDMA OR GRANDFATHER? Seniors who go to kindergarten to read fairy tale children regularly once a week become fabulous reading grandmothers and grandfathers. It is thanks to regularity that the space for intergenerational ties, dialogue and friendship opens up here. For children, reading with a fabulous reading grandmother or grandfather becomes an integral part of a normal week. When listening, he develops his imagination and sense of language. They can absorb peace, balance and get closer to the older generation from seniors. In return, seniors draw energy from the joy, sincerity and vitality of the little ones. Throughout the year, seniors can also attend other SEMINARS. In our library , seniors can borrow children's books , which they then read to children in kindergartens. SEMINARS AND EDUCATION Seminar "We read to children in an engaging way" Every new senior who joins the Read program attends a seminar "We read to children in an engaging way". They will learn how to work with the voice so that its reading is engaging for children's listeners, as well as how to treat their vocal cords gently so that reading is a pleasure. The lecturer of the seminar is MgA. Alena Špačková, who has many years of experience in working with voice and rhetoric. Among other things, she is the author of the book Modern Rhetoric and leads courses of the same name, including a focus on the technique of the spoken word. Further education and activities We also offer members of the reading club other seminars on various topics as a possibility of further education. For example, those focused on intergenerational communication, psychology, family issues and personal development are popular . OUR READING GRANDS AND GRANTS There are already more than 100 fairytale reading grandmothers and grandfathers in the Czech Republic, and they are all equally wonderful and absolutely unique for "their" children they go to read. Let us introduce some: DANA Děti jsou bezvadné, každá třída je jiná, ale vždy vidím, že mají o čtení zájem. Zdraví mě i na ulici, i když já je zase tolik nerozeznám, tak ony se přihlásí sami. Naplňuje mě to pocitem potřebnosti a užitečnosti a jsem ráda, že dělám činnost, která má smysl a baví mě. MARIE Pro mne je úterní polední aktivita v MŠ příjemnou zábavou. Čtu nejmenším dětem - před poledním spaním, takže vybírám krátké pohádky, naposledy jsem četla Ezopovy bajky s dětskými ilustracemi. Čtení zakončuji dvěma či třemi ukolébavkami. Jednou měsíčně mívám sebou housle, takže ukolébavky i hraji. Uvědomuji si přitom magickou moc hudby, která dokáže děti uklidnit a ukolébat ke spánku. MARIE Myslím, že nejen dávám, ale i dostávám, což je krásné naplnění myšlenky propojení generací, na níž je založeno Mezi námi. MILADA Dělá mi velkou radost, když zazvoním a slyším zevnitř: "Babička Miládka přišla!" Zažila jsem i jednu zvláštní a příjemnou věc - jeden malý chlapeček, který chodil po obědě domů, si vyžádal u rodičů, aby mohl ten den, kdy chodím číst, ve školce zůstat i po obědě a spát tam. Pak mi řekl, že mě má rád. To jsem skoro brečela. MARIE Do školky za dětmi chodím velice ráda, jenže v poslední době jsem často nemocná. Když jsem byla v nemocnici, moc mne potěšilo a překvapilo, že na mne moje školka myslela a dokonce za mnou přišla Lenka na návštěvu a přinesla veliké papírové srdce s přáním od dětí. To mi samozřejmě udělalo ohromnou radost a vzbudilo to pozdvižení na oddělení. Bylo to milé pohlazení, a došlo mi že moje čtení má smysl. MANUELA Čtení ve školce je velice milé, dětičky jsou ohromné, roztomilé a leckdy, překvapí nějakou "perličkou" kterou mne obohatí, kdyz glosují situaci ve třídě/ložničce nebo doma. Jsou velice rády když s nimi laškuji při přetahování pokrývky. Škoda že si nemohu s nimi více povídat, mým úkolem je uspání. MIRKA Dětem bych chtěla předat lásku ke knížkám. Dnes se hodně používají elektronické knihy, ale podle mě to nemá zdaleka takový půvab, jako když si člověk vezme tu papírovou knížku a listuje si v ní a občas udělá nějaké to oslí ucho. A ta knížka voní. To je přeci požitek. ZUZKA Je to zaručená půlhodina štěstí týdně, kterou mi nikdo nevezme. JIŘÍ Na ulici jsem potkal jednu maminku, kterou jsem viděl poprvé a moc mi děkovala za to, co pro ty děti dělám. To člověka naplňuje pocitem uspokojení, ale i radosti, že pro ty děti děláme správnou věc. ALENA Celý život jsem pracovala ve školství, takže by mi kontakt s dětmi v důchodu chyběl. A ti nejmenší jsou rádi, když se paní učitelka na chvíli vymění za někoho jiného. Někdo z nich ani svou babičku nemá, nebo má mladou, ještě pracující, která na čtení pohádek nemá čas. Rodiče taky ne, tak si jejich ratolesti poslech užijí ve školce. A taky si s námi rádi popovídají. Někdy se společně hodně nasmějeme, ale jen chvilku, jsem tam přeci hlavně proto, abych je uspala. JARMILA Desítky párů dětských očí se dívají a já spolu s nimi vstupuji také do krásného světa pohádek a k tomu mne napadají příběhy z mého dětství, které při tom vyprávím. A také dětská objetí a hlazení v těch krásných chvílích čtení přítomno tu je, a každý můj verš s námi souzní a lehounce se rýmuje. A protože také s dětmi kreslím na seminářích, je pro mne pohádkové čtení ve školce nádherným časem uvolnění, relaxace a krásného pocitu naplnění. JARMILA S knihami jsem vyrůstala (naši měli knihkupectví) a dodnes je pro mne kniha nepostradatelnou věcí. Největší záhadou v dnešní době je pro mne přijít na to, co bude děti bavit. Snad se mi to až dosud dařilo, ale přesto jsem měla dojem, že děti baví víc hra než čtení a tak jsme si i některé pohádky zinscenovali a kombinovali jsme čtení s písničkami a tanečky. Nejraději měly Zajíčka v své jamce. BOŽENA Pokaždé se spolu hezky přivítáme, některé děti to dělají formou objetí a ostatní je potom následují, takže je z toho pořádný chumel a já chci potom vědět, čí je která postýlka, abych je tam mohla zpátky doprovodit. Přitom se dozvídám samé důležité věci: komu zrovna vypadl zoubek, kdo má jakého plyšáka nebo obrázek na pyžamku a podobně. KATEŘINA Čtení ve školce mne těší, chodím tam 1x týdně a je to milé zpestření mého pracovního týdne. Děti už (některé) znám jménem a moc mne těší, když si před čtením chvilku povídáme. Naposledy jsem jim donesla mušličky od moře - jen těm, kdo chtěli - a ostatním drobnosti na malování a kaleidoskopy, tak snad budou na čtecí babičku rády vzpomínat. ALENA Je to moc krásné a pro mě přínosné moci jednotlivé děti sledovat i více let jak se mění, vyvíjejí. Pamatuji si je už podle jmen, máme se vzájemně rádi a těšíme se na sebe. (Žertem říkám, že se na nich “trénuji” pro svá vnoučata – starší mám mimo republiku.) Jsem tedy ve školce stále spokojená a děkuji za tu možnost! JAROSLAVA Již 7 let jsem pohádková babička. Za dětmi chodím moc ráda a čtení mě baví i inspiruje. Děti jsou milé, veselé a upřímné....chlapeček: "opravdu babičko vypadáš jako ta stařenka z pohádky"...no a co, má pravdu je mi 83 let. JANA Je příjemné, že my čtecí babičky a dědečkové dostáváme pozvání na „pořady-akce“ pořádané školkou, dětmi, pro jejich rodiče. I to je vždy příjemná atmosféra, symbióza mezi školkou jako institucí a rodiči, kteří sem svěřují vzdělávání svých dětí. IVANA O pocitech, přínosu pro mě či pro děti bych mohla psát dlouho. Ale není to třeba. Prostě – je to báječná činnost, která je pro mě odměnou. OLGA Kdo by mohl dětem číst, ať se s nimi setkává, ať je poslouchá. Nejde jen o to jim číst, ale je poslouchat. Já mám báječnou zkušenost - ptala jsem se dětí, co chtějí číst, a byla jsem překvapená, jakou pestrost zájmů už jsem viděla. LUDMILA Čtení v MŠ je pro mne neustále úžasným zdrojem energie a uvědomění si důležitosti budování krásných a podnětných vztahů mezi nejstaršími a nejmladšími jedinci. MÍLA Při čtení pohádky o Sněhurce a sedmi trpaslících jsem vytáhla obyčejné, ale "kouzelné" zrcátko. “Kouzelné zrcátko, co mi povíš zakrátko? Babičko Mílo, proč se ptáš? Vždyť dědu Jardu přece máš. Je hodný a má tě rád, tak co si můžeš ještě přát?” Chvíli bylo velké ticho a potom se ozvala jedna čiperná holčička z lehátka. “Babičko Mílo, když je ten děda Jarda tak hodný a má tě rád, přiveď ho k nám do školky, abysme ho viděly.” No, není to úžasné? Tvář mi ozářil šťastný úsměv. Jsem ráda, že dělám čtecí babičku. VLÁĎA Přes padesát let jsem pracoval s většími dětmi jako sbormistr, a teď jsem šťasten, když se mohu pravidelně setkávat s těmi nejmenšími, povídat si s nimi, číst jim pohádky a občas jim i zazpívat. Dojalo mě třeba, když mi k Vánocům nakreslili milý obrázek. Je to krásná, vděčná záliba! VĚRA Proč čtu? Pro pocit sdílení. Pro neopakovatelný zážitek z propojení se světem dětské fantazie, bezprostředních emocí a čisté radosti. A pro malou jiskřičku naděje, že třeba – možná - aspoň některý z mých úžasných posluchačů jednou podlehne kouzlu písmenek stejně jako já. LET'S TALK LET´S TALK program brings together two often-separated worlds: seniors living in care facilities and children from kindergartens and primary schools across the whole Czech Republic. Through regular visits and shared activities, we create space for meaningful communication between generations—encouraging the exchange of time, energy, experiences and wisdom. In the LET´S TALK program, specific groups of children nearby homes for the elderly on a regular basis typically every 3 to 4 weeks for 45–60 minutes. These ongoing visits help build familiarity and deepen relationships, allowing friendships to naturally form between the generations. Each meeting is carefully prepared and led by our coordinators, who design the activities based on the needs and abilities of both children and seniors. Activities often include: Art and music Movement and games Storytelling and reading Celebrations of holidays and seasonal events These meetings are not only enjoyable but are also integrated into the educational schedules of schools and kindergartens as well as into the social programs of facilities for the elderly. In the LET´S TALK program, children meet people who are often over 90 years old, giving them a rare and valuable opportunity to experience life in a completely different time period. They develop empathy, gain a deeper understanding of ageing and learn to view the elderly with respect rather than prejudice, which is especially important for children who may not be in regular contact with their own grandparents. These intergenerational meetings bring joy, inspiration, and new energy to seniors. Sharing their stories, talents, and life experiences helps them feel valued and connected. Most importantly, both groups learn from each other: respect, kindness, and the beauty of friendship that transcends age. DEVELOPMENT AT EVERY AGE Even seniors want to improve their skills. That is why we regularly organize courses and workshops for them focusing on communication, self-development or various psychological topics. We mainly reflect their needs and demand. Seminars for our collaborators: We are constantly working with all cooperating facilities to make intergenerational meetings as beneficial as possible. Our experienced coordinators help in this, but we also meet together at workshops, trainings and conferences, where we share good practice ideas and inspire each other. ERASMUS + EUROPEAN PROJECT Innovative education in the field of support for intergenerational cooperation - we help everyone who wants to participate in intergenerational activities, within the framework of European cooperation we have prepared a program for intergenerational coaches. Together with us, you will learn how to prepare, organize and lead intergenerational meetings so that it benefits everyone involved. ROCHIL - we are cooperating on a project whose goal is the intergenerational transfer of cultural wealth within the EU countries. Accredited educational program of the Ministry of Education PROBLEMS OF INTERGENERATIONAL SHARING for pedagogical staff of primary schools, kindergartens We organize an educational program full of intergenerational topics for pedagogical staff, which we have compiled on the basis of our many years of experience, especially from the Talk program. By completing the program, educators can gain the knowledge and skills needed to create and promote intergenerational sharing. They will learn how to successfully prepare intergenerational activities in middle school facilities (primary schools, kindergartens, primary schools) and in cooperating senior facilities (DS, DPS, clubs, etc.). Personal development COFFEE WITH VANDA A project that helps our volunteers and co-workers in difficult life situations for free. Individual therapeutic counseling is always provided by prior agreement and everything is governed by the specific needs of the participants. In April 2020, we invited you children to paint pictures of popular fairy tales to please grandmothers and grandfathers in nursing homes. And your reaction exceeded all our expectations. You have painted more than 500 pictures and they were all without exaggeration wonderful. See the gallery below. In the name of Fairy Tales for Joy, we delivered more than 30,000 postcards enjoyed by seniors in 160 homes throughout the Czech Republic. Dear children thank you! We also thank your parents, teachers, nursing home workers, in short, all those who helped us with the Fairy Tale for Joy.
